October is here, Halloween is just around the corner, and that means one thing…it’s time to start planning a fabulous Halloween party!
It’s hard to say who likes Halloween the most in our neck of the woods, the kids or adults, but one thing is for sure, we all count the days until we can get together for our annual Halloween celebration. Pumpkin Carving Party — A pumpkin carving party is a great excuse to get together at any time during the month of October. Start the day with a visit to your favorite pumpkin patch, then invite the gang back to your house, yard or garage, and let everyone express their creativity by designing their very own jack o’lantern. At the end of the party you can have a contest and award everyone prizes for their work.
Costume Party — Of course, the most traditional way to celebrate Halloween is with a good old-fashioned costume party. A costume party is a great way to go for parties with guests of any age. You can let everyone decide on their own costume, or provide a theme for your event, such as heroes and villains, great duos, fantasy creatures, favorite TV or film characters, or costumes from a decade or country.
Halloween Parties for the Adult Crowd — There are lots of ways to host an adult Halloween party that’s a little more on the spooky side. The vampire party theme is really popular right now, or you could host a night of the living dead with a zombie prom. For something a little more unusual, you might consider hosting a party with a superstitions party theme.
Kids’ Halloween Parties — A guaranteed hit with the kids is to have everyone to your house to gather for an easy dinner before setting out as a group to go trick-or-treating. (Send the dads with the kids and let the ladies enjoy a cocktail while holding down the fort at home!) Then, when the goodie collecting is over, everyone can regroup at your house to share the loot!
Other Great Fall October Party Themes – Of course there are lots of other great excuses to celebrate in October besides Halloween. You could cheer on your favorite team at a football party, go on a hayride, go apple picking, have a backyard marshmallow roast, or celebrate the annual wine press with a wine tasting party.
